I built something and made it free. Figured you'd want to know about it.
It's called GOVENANT — an open standard for AI governance. You can read it at govenantstandard.org.
Here's the problem it's trying to solve:
Most AI agents today don't actually complete tasks. They report completion. There's a difference — and most systems aren't built to catch it. I started calling this "performed autonomy." The agent looks busy, the dashboard looks green, and nothing real happened. You find out later, or you don't find out at all.
I've been building AI-native systems for a while now. This problem showed up in my own work before I had a name for it. Once I named it, I couldn't stop seeing it everywhere.
So I wrote a standard. Not a product. Not a pitch. Just a framework for how AI agents should verify their own work before claiming it's done — with real checkpoints, not self-reported status.
It's open source. No cost. No catch.
