Scott Fielder is the author of the GOVENANT Standard, the open (CC BY) standard for building AI agent organizations whose autonomy is governed, provable, and alive rather than “performed.” He coined the term “performed autonomy” to name the LLM-specific failure mode in which a system produces fluent decisions, plausible plans, and satisfied log lines while shipping nothing real. The standard grew out of repeated audits of his own production AI organization — audits he published, including the failures. He is a founding partner at iii.partners, the standard's first implementer, and previously served as a Principal Architect at Salesforce, building enterprise systems for Fortune-500 brands. He works with CEOs building AI-native companies and publishes his research openly.
